A unique Holistic Approach

Endangered Species protection & wildlife management

A sanctuary for
iconic wildlife

From elephants and rhinos to vultures and endemic plants, Sango hosts an exceptionally rich biodiversity. The conservancy ensures both high-quality wildlife monitoring and robust protection for key species against international commercial poaching. Looking ahead, the reinforcement of management plans for priority species, along with the establishment of a dedicated Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for urgent treatment of injured rhinos, will further strengthen the security and well-being of both iconic and lesser-known vulnerable species.

Our impacts

For decades, Sango’s ecology team has been monitoring wildlife and ecosystems, focusing on holistic ecosystem management, whilst a dedicated unit works to protect natural resources and key species such as the critically endangered black rhino, limiting resource depletion through poaching.

Our ambitions

Moving forward, Sango will strengthen its management plans for key species like carnivores and scavengers, while a new high-protection Intensive Care Unit (ICU) will provide urgent care and enhanced security for injured or sick rhinos, ensuring their safety and reinforcing the protection of these iconic species.
