Scaling a rewilding success-story across Southern-Africa
Share our vision and take part in the scaling-up of our impact
Thirty years ago, Sango was a depleted cattle ranch. Today, it is a thriving conservancy. It proves that rigorous, science-based rewilding, with climate, people and biodiversity in mind works. We now aim to replicate this model across Southern Africa to deliver lasting benefits for both people and nature.
Our ambition
Long term
- On-site deepening projects – Increase Sango’s impact through reinforced anti-poaching efforts, wildlife monitoring, increased human-wildlife co-existence and community upliftment.
Mid-term
Conservancy expansion – Bring ~40,000 adjacent areas to high conservation standards.
Rewilding & translocations – Design and deliver regular translocations to other protected areas, building on Sango’s thriving source populations and three decades of experience.
Long-term
Model replication – Rewild and conserve new areas across Southern Africa, by scaling the Sango model to other private reserves.
