B Corp

Certification of Sango Wildlife Conservancy’ activities

All activities occurring at Sango from the touristic operations to the operational management are undergoing the B Corp certification process, with the aim to complete it in 2025.

B Corp Certification is a designation that a business is meeting rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

To become certified, a company must demonstrate:

Strong governance practices that ensure accountability, transparency, and a commitment to social and environmental impact.

Fair and supportive treatment of workers, including good wages, benefits, professional development, and a healthy work environment.

Positive community engagement, through inclusive hiring, local involvement, charitable giving, and respect for diversity and equity.

Environmental responsibility, by actively measuring and reducing its ecological footprint across operations and supply chains.

Customer stewardship, ensuring products and services create positive impact, are marketed ethically, and respect consumer rights and wellbeing.

B Corp Certification is holistic, not exclusively focused on a single social or environmental issue. The process to achieve and maintain certification is rigorous and requires engaging teams and departments across the organisation. Verification involves documentation of our business model and information about operations, structure, and various work processes, as well as review of potential public complaints and possible site visits.

In order to remain certified, Sango will have to undergo the verification process every three years, showing continuous improvement in its practices as B Corp’s requirements go up regularly.
